a Wallhanging
When my grandma [Pene's mum] was in the nursing home I visited her a couple of times with Mum. Because of her cataract operations her eyes were great and Grandma spent most of her time doing rustic embroidery onto calico. You might remember that Mum has since made most of these small patches of embroidered calico into quilts - click here to see one of them.
While I was there I started doing designs for Grandma to stitch - they were mostly angels to fit in with what she was already stitching. Anyway, time got away from her and Grandma never got to do my designs - but I'd kept a copy of them for myself which I would occasionally show friends.
Just before I went into hospital in April a friend asked if she could have one. While it was meant to perk me up when I was recovering at home, she has just finished stitching and binding it in time to give it to me for Christmas.
I hope you like it. It has inspired me to dig out and finish some other designs and patterns I have half-finished.
If you would like the pattern for this one, or any of the others, you can send me an email at word.addiction@gmail.com
